JULY 28, 2012

"May I sit down, Miss Moffett?"   "I have had a difficult time trying  to climb up a water spout."

I took this picture by attaching the lens backward, with the help of a reversing ring.  It magnifies the object and to focus, the camera has to be moved in or out, which means that a steady hand is needs to hold is still.

This spider is no more, thanks to the Mushroom Fairy...

The Mushroom Fairy.  Tinkerbell has nothing on this one.

The flower is from our front yard and I used a 50mm lens with extension tubes to take the close-up (macro) picture.  It is less than an inch across the flower.

Linda found the pine cones on a path while we were walking in Hiawassee, GA this weekend.  She liked the rock that was nearby and said that I should take a picture of them.

"That's interesting..."  You know what that means when your wife says it, which she did when I showed her this picture of a man made falls outside of the Brasstown Resort.  it is part of the landscaping.  By the way, if fairness to her, she tends to like things natural, particularly pictures.

For a better view, click once on a picture.

The next was not 'natural' as well.  It is one of the views from the deck of the resort.

I captured this little critter in the men's room at work today.  I have it in a paper towel with my cell phone on it's tail so I could capture it with my camera.  Quickly, I let it go out of doors after the photo session.  I would have like to take more pictures to get the right one, but I did not want to torment.  Linda thinks that I can take too long to take pictures...

This is the Methodist church on Canton Highway, which was taken two years ago during the Winter.  It was a Black and White photo that has been altered in Photoshop Elements.

July 10, 2012

I took this on the way to work this morning and I think that it would make a great "Caption Photo" where one puts a caption to the picture.  Also, I was amused that the neighbor across the street has an American flag affixed to an old, rusty hay mower; one that was probably pulled by a team of animals.  One could make up a short story about this.

July 2, 2012

Linda was not home this evening and we had left-overs from a New England Boiled Dinner in the refrigerator, which is Corned Beef, Potatoes, Cabbage, Carrots, Turnip, and Onions.

As a child, the left overs were ground up together and heated is a skillet on the stove top.  We always added Beets and this was called "Red Flannel Hash."  It was called "Grey Flannel Hash" without the Beets.

Thanks to Cuisinart, it was prepped in no time.  I added some ketchup, salt, and pepper and it tasted just as I remember it.
