Morning or Evening???  This was taken a two years ago in Destin, Florida in the morning.

June 28, 2012

This is the first picture that I have taken for a while.  Alan Redpath said, "Beware of the barrenness of a busy life" and I feel that way as it relates to taking pictures.

This picture is of field fog on Post Road near Atlanta Highway.  It has been there every morning for about a week.  Today, having a little extra time, I stopped to take the picture.

June 28, 2012

This is a ZDONK, which is a cross between a Zebra and a Donkey and was taken in Shelbyville, TN.

June 25, 2012

I took this picture of the steeple on First Baptist Church in Cumming last winter,  It is an angle that is not readily seen.  I tinted a black and white photo to give it a different look.

June 24, 2012

When I went out early to water, this blossom was not there and when I was putting things in the car to go to church, there it was.  Amazing what can happen in two hours.

Me, ride in an Hot Air Balloon?  I don't think so...  This one had just taken off from the field next to Ingles on Bethelview Road and I ran under it and too the picture just as the pilot fired the "whatever."

June 22, 2012

There are so many waterfalls in north Georgia and western North Carolina and some, as Dry Falls in Highlands, NC, are easy to access.  One can even walk under the falls, on a path, to the other side.  I have a photo on my other computer of a picture taken from under the falls.

June 21 2012

The top picture is of two men in Key West on Thanksgiving morning last year.  I think the name of the location is Mallory Point.  The one on the right is from Alabama and the other is from Michigan.

The second picture is the same shot with the help Photoshop Elements and Photomatix software.

June 20, 2012

I messed yesterday's post, which is the third time since I started.  As I mentioned previously, taking pictures every day and then posting them is quite time consuming and other things have gotten in the way from time to time, so I am posting pictures prior to this year as opportunity presents itself.

This sunset was taken in Key West, Florida and it looked just as the picture.

June 18, 2012

This scene was taken on Big Creek Greenway near Union Hill Road in Alpharetta.  I turned on of the photos into Black & White and the other has been enhanced with Photoshop Elements.

June 17, 2012

It is Father's Day and I am grateful to be the father of of two great girls and to have two great grandsons.  The pictures for today are of Jack (9) and Ben (6).

June 16, 2012

I posted this picture of the surf in Destin, Florida previously, however, I made six crops of the picture; three across the top and three across the bottom.  The pictures were trimmed to fit onto each of the six panes of glass of this old window sash.  I had trimmed and painted the sash earlier.

Unfortunately, there are reflections off the glass, but that could not be helped in this setting.

Here is a different presentation of the 'Monet Bridge' at Gibbs Gardens.  This is an HDR process; same photo with 3 different exposures and then the Photomatix software does the rest.

Remember to click on the photo once to enlarge it.

Are these Emma's (Linda) favorite lamps or are Jack and Ben balancing the lamps on their heads?

Want to buy a home?

June 13, 2012

This is one of the 12 covered bridges in Georgia and it is located in Cumming, GA.  It is Poole's Bridge.

The tranquil reflection is just below the bridge and just above some minor falling water, which is not equated with waterfalls as we would picture in our minds.

June 10, 2012

This is the Stovall Mill Covered Bridge east of Helen, Georgia.  I took this picture about four years ago.

Do you know how many covered bridges are in Georgia?

From a strictly historical point of view, noting that because a bridge is covered, it does not rate historically and if it has a steel structure, it does not count.

The answer for the purist is 12.

June 8, 2012

I took this picture at the Dillard House in Dillard, GA. One could call this a 'pastoral setting.'

June 7, 2012

The is Ray and his two brothers Ray-Ray and Ray-Ray.

I set up the camera on a tripod, set the timer, took a picture.  Then I changed positions and poses two more time.  With the help of Photoshop, this is the result.

June 6, 2012

This is one of favorite pictures, which was taken on a rainy day in Highlands, NC.  The sun does not have to be shining to take pictures and it is often better to take pictures on cloudy days so the sun does not over expose the picture.

I have said of this picture that if your Ford gives out on you, you can always turn it into a planter.

June 5, 2012

The flower bed is outside the Welcome Center and the tree is by the table and chairs where one can enjoy a lunch from the Arbor.

June 4, 2012

The bridge is called the Monet Bridge at Gibbs Gardens, which is similar to one of the same name in Paris.  It is my understanding that the measurements are exact, although the canopy is not in the painting of it by Monet.

June 3, 2012

This is a post processed (HDR) picture from the bridge in a previous post today.  The scene is on the left as one is about to enter the Welcome Center.

June 3, 2012

Went to Gibbs Gardens yesterday and the Water Lilies, Day Lilies and Hydrangeas are in bloom.  The top picture is of the bridge as one leave the Welcome Center and the bottom picture of  one of the many Hydrangeas.  Click one on a picture to enlarge it.

June 2, 2012

I posted a 'pen and ink' photo of the water wheel at Berry College two days ago and today's post is similar, but shows the before and after of the process.  This picture is of Nubble Light in York, Maine.

June 1, 2012

This picture was taken two years ago at the Lake Lanier Lights of Christmas.  It was above the live manger scene.
